John Abi Saabsollebanonrugby
John Abi-Saab is a member of the Board of Friends of Lebanon Rugby. He had been involved in Lebanon Rugby for seven years as both a member of the Board of Lebanon Rugby and as the General Manager of the Federation.
John was also the Lebanese Rugby Federation’s representative on the Asia Rugby Council for five years, and subsequently was elected to the Executive Committee of Asia Rugby in 2015.
John left Beirut in December 2018, returning to Sydney, Australia, and subsequently joined the Board of premier rugby club, West Harbour as Vice President in February, 2019.
He subsequently was elected Vice President of the board of the Sydney Rugby Union, the Union that administers, Australia’s premier club rugby competition, the Shute Shield, in November, 2019,
Outside of rugby, John is a practiced lawyer for Hickens Lawyers specialising in educational liability law and is an accomplished educator teaching English, History, Commerce, Business and Legal Studies at a number of private schools in Sydney.
During his time in Beirut, John also taught law and education studies at a number of Lebanese Universities, and has served as a student teacher mentor at the Australian Catholic University in Sydney.
