Raymond Asfour leads the board of Friends of Lebanon Rugby. He has been involved in Lebanon Rugby for 17 years as both a national team player and as a member of the board of Lebanon Rugby.
Outside of rugby, Raymond is the founder and CEO of Expectation State, a UK incorporated development company that works with governments in emerging states to improve their ability to attract investment for the ultimate benefit of their populations.
Prior to Expectation State, Raymond’s career focused on supporting governments in Emerging States on behalf of a wide range of donors including DFID, FCO, EU, UN, Danida, and the US. He has worked extensively throughout South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, designing, implementing, and evaluating programmes and funding instruments aimed at enhancing state stability, including through private sector engagement.
In addition to his roles at Friends of Lebanon Rugby and Expectation State, Raymond is a Senior Deployable Civilian Expert for the UK Government Stabilisation Unit, and a board trustee of the Centre on Religion and Global Affairs and CRGA USA.
